I started a 21 day meditation today with Deepak Chopra. He began the meditation challenges with Oprah Winfrey several years ago which really got me started on the path of meditating. Meditating is something that has radically changed my life and I am so grateful for it. It has helped me a great deal on so many levels by calming, centering and inspiring me.
Today’s meditation was timely because the theme of the meditation was the path to empowerment. Not surprisingly, one of the things that clicked in my head after watching the Heal documentary was my empowerment.
I used to identify with the picture of me running in the New Jersey marathon with the look on my face displaying a strong, determined, I can do it attitude. But when I had my first cancer surgery to remove the quadricep muscles from my left thigh, I remember crying and thinking, I’m not that girl anymore; what happened to her? But now, I’ve got it back. I am that girl and she’s not going away!
The mantra for today’s meditation was “I am awakening to the unlimited power of the self”. And I am! My intention is to stay strong and determined that I am going to continue to stay cancer free.
I had let cancer take free rein and now, I am taking my power back. I am powerful; we all are!
In addition to other changes in my diet, I have started juicing daily. I enjoy the fresh taste and the benefits to my body are through the roof. I often use kale, celery, carrots, ginger, apples among other fresh veggies and fruit.
I also have also started taking Turkey tail along with other mushroom supplements. Turkey tail contains prebiotics and a wide variety of antioxidants that boost the immune system. I’m also taking liposomal vitamin C in addition to other supplements. I’m confident that the supplements, changes in my diet, juicing and the change in my attitude will all add up to a much healthier me. And, as I always say, giving up is not an option!
