No New Tumors!
Posted On June/2017
Today I received my scan results from Dr. Patterson…feelings of apprehension followed by gratitude and relief.
I’m good for another 3 months…no new tumors!!!!!!!!!!
What a huge relief yet I was saddened to see a very young girl maybe around the age of 12 or 13 at the doctor’s office in a wheel chair. She had one leg and you could tell that she was just starting to get her hair back. That could have been me…I said a prayer for her.
She and her caregiver, probably her mom, seemed cheerful enough, both smiling and conversing as if everything were OK.
Sometimes, people are surprised to see cancer patients laughing and smiling. When people see us, they sometimes don’t know what to say. They are afraid of upsetting us; as if we don’t already know what’s going on. In spite of what we are dealing with, or maybe even because of it, we still laugh and smile.
I try to make a joke of it sometimes and make light of it…God knows how important a sense of humor is especially when dealing with this.
But for now, I am just going to bask in the fact that there is a full summer ahead of me and I don’t have to deal with it again until my next scan in 3 months.
